About Olli Ella

The journey began one Winter in London in 2010, when sisters Olivia and Chloe Brookman designed a nursing chair, and soon after a homewares collection, fulfilling a childhood dream of creating products together.

The Olli Ella collection gives a wink to the sisters' nomadic life as children, having lived in England, Australia and America by the time they were teenagers, and the sisters' love of adventure as a result of their unusual upbringing.

Olli Ella products are influenced by play and having fun, and the sisters' love of useful, tactile designs. Olli Ella pieces are lovingly made ethically, and sustainably, using natural materials such as rattan, seagrass, and wool - the collection is populated with pieces that delight and are cherished, and seem to become firm favourites in every home.

Olli Ella brings out the child, the explorer, the adventurer, and homebody in us all, with a youthful spirit infusing every single piece.

Behind the brand

Born in London in 2009, Olli Ella has grown to become a global home décor brand for the modern family, with an ever-expanding collection of rugs, baskets, 100% cotton organic baby bedding and more. Founded on the belief that just because something is made for a nursery, it needn’t look out of place elsewhere, every piece is made for a child’s space, but looks equally at home in grown-up spaces.

With a sense of innocence and playfulness running throughout, Olli Ella’s signature look is effortless and understated, in a nostalgic yet modern palette of muted pastels, blues and poppy sherbet shades. Nursery furniture and bed linen are manufactured in England and Australia from the finest materials while fairtrade accessories suppliers are cherry picked for their quality and attention to detail.

Like many of the best ideas, Olli Ella started as a happy accident. After not being able to find a nursing chair to fit the eclectic feel of her first child’s nursery, Chloe Brookman, 33, and her sister Olivia, 31 owners of a Clerkenwell art gallery specialising in 20th century work - decided to design a chair themselves. Six months later they were making chairs for other expectant friends; within another three months Olli Ella launched, with Harrods as its first stockist.

A combination of their first and middle names, Olli Ella draws inspiration from the sisters’ three children and their own childhoods. Having spent their formative years in Sydney, the carefree, relaxed Australian lifestyle informs Olli Ella’s designs while celebrating the sophistication and quality of English products. “The nursery represents all of the love, excitement and dreams that we have for our new babies. We set out to combine aesthetics and practicality, in order to create warm, inviting spaces that will grow with our children, ” explain the sisters, who define their style as “soft modern with vintage bones” and “mid-century meets bohemia”. Including British royalty and A-list celebrities amongst its fans, Olli Ella is making the future bright for mini design aficionados – and their families.
